VINTAGE AND VINEYARDS
The grapes for Solemar Merlot were selected from the Veneto region of eastern Italy.  The 2007 harvest was one of the most successful in recent memory delivering a high quality crop of smaller than usual clusters that provided ideal conditions for flavor development.

WINE AND WINEMAKING
Late night and early morning harvesting at the coolest possible temperatures helped retain the freshness and maximized flavors for this succulent Merlot.  Deep plum color with sweet tannins and full rich blackberry, plum and cherry-chocolate flavors radiate on the silky finish.

CELEBRATIONS AND FOOD PAIRINGS
Italians by nature are a social, vibrant folk who celebrate even the simplest feat.  And from weddings to Wednesdays, wine is always present turning even a modest meal into a celebration.  Solemar wines are crafted with these colorful occasions in mind.

To turn your simple gathering into a celebration with Solemar Italian Merlot, serve it with an appetizer cheese plate Spanish Manchego or extra aged gouda.  The black fruit flavors and supple tannins of the Solemar Merlot make this a perfect match for dishes like herb roasted pork or Maine Lobster!
